Pray for Christchurch

Our team is in the North Island and we are fine.  Lue just returned from Christchurch four days before the 6.3 earthquake.  She flew down to meet her cousin Carlene from northern California.  Her cousin's friend was not able to join Carlene in the trip to NZ.  So Lue just encouraged her cousin in driving and connecting her with friends in Queenstown.

Please pray for the community of Christchurch and surrounding areas that have been hit by a 6.3 earthquake.  The pictures on the news reveal much damage to life and property...buildings collapsing, roads buckled, fires, search and rescue teams digging people out of the rubble of the buildings. We are praying for the safety of recue teams as they free people from the debre.  We pray that God's purposes will be manifested out of the rubble.  One recent bit of promising news has been the volunteer movement among students on facebook.  A 10,000 student vounteer army has organized and is now being dispatched to help clean up and repair less critical areas around the perimeter of the epicenter of the earthquake area.  They have dispatched small groups of students to neighborhoods and homes that need help to put things back in order and clean up.  Wow! What a mobilization effort from the youth!!  Praise God!  A good example for the church.
